Flower Farm and Floral Design Studio

Seasonal / Unique / Local / Farm-Fresh Flowers

Proclamation Flowers is a flower farm and floral design studio located south of Chicago in Wilmington, Illinois, owned and operated by Katie and Chris Francis. We are flower-farmers: we grow seasonal blooms for their sensational appeal in our peak season of June - October. We are also farmer-florists. We design custom works using our own seasonal blooms. Locally grown flowers are a delight; we cannot wait to share them with you.

What We Grow

We grow seasonal flowers. In other words, we do not have the same inventory available in June as we do in October. We like it that way. We believe our role is to showcase the gorgeous variety of blooms that occur over the summer and fall. The diversity of what grows is astounding, and we like marking the change of the seasons with the changes occurring in our fields.

A sample of what we are growing for the 2019 season includes: Amaranth, Asters, Calendula, Celosia, Cerinthe, Cosmos, Dahlias, Delphinium, Dusty Miller, Eucalyptus, Flax, Heirloom Mums, Peonies, Ranunculus, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Scabiosa, Snapdragons, Statice, Stock, Strawflowers, Sunflowers, and Zinnias (and more).

We design custom flowers for you for any and every occasion, including gifts, showers, parties, weekly bouquet deliveries, and weddings. We truly enjoy selecting the best of what the field has to offer and creating something beautiful for you to savor.

Our design style is nature-inspired and field-driven. We design the local, seasonal flowers we grow ourselves, and we thoroughly appreciate the variety and bounty of what the season has to offer. Our motivation when designing flowers is to give you something that inspires, refreshes, and surprises you.

Here is a sample of things we have grown and designed.

Services Offered

We offer the full suite of wedding ceremony and reception flowers, from flowers to carry or to wear for the bridal party, to ceremony and reception decorations. We love creating an unique and personalized product with you.

Because we are a family-owned and operated design studio, we are flexible and able to work with any size budget or wish list (large to small). We will meet in-person for a consultation to review and refine your vision for your celebration. After that, we will send you a proposed contract (with all costs detailed). A 50% deposit is due with the signed contract, with the remainder due 30 days before the wedding date. We deliver, set up, and install everything for you on your wedding day.

Our Philosophy

Our mission is to help each customer “Make Your Statement in Flowers”. We believe our flowers are statement-worthy because our flowers are fresh, they are fragrant, they are carefully selected and tended, and they are pesticide free. Most florists use gloves or other hand protection when unboxing the flowers that go into bouquets. You should not have to worry about what is on your flowers on your wedding day. With the flowers we grow, you don’t have to.

Locally grown flowers arrange differently. They are more pliant and supple, more tender and vibrant than flowers flown into the country, shipped to a warehouse, and delivered to a floral studio. In addition, because you aren’t paying for any of those shipping and transport costs with us, you get more flowers for your price point than you would otherwise. We may be biased, but we think having more flowers is always better!

We specifically limit the number of weddings we take per season so that we can provide our couples with the most personalized and uniquely crafted arrangements possible - whatever will make your day look and feel spectacular to you. Your flowers should reflect how you feel about, and on, your wedding day. To do that, we start by using only the freshest flowers that we grow ourselves, locally, in our own fields. We harvest, arrange, and deliver our creations within 48 hours to maximize their freshness, scent, and beauty. Katie’s floral design training provides a key starting point; together, you and her will work together to identify the vision you want to bring to life. We hold it as a high honor to play a role in your wedding celebration. We look forward to celebrating with you!
